Matt holds the position of Program Mentor at the Bench Mark Program in Lancaster County. He works to empower strength-based skill-building for youth across various programs through relationship, lesson facilitation, and exercise-based mentoring. Before Bench Mark Program, Matt spent nearly ten years as Program Manager at Compass Mark’s Lancaster site, where he worked to build and maintain professional relationships throughout Lancaster County school districts to provide evidence-based prevention programming to students K-12 while also supporting Prevention Specialists who implement the programs. Matt currently sits on the Commonwealth Prevention Alliance board of directors and is active in CPA’s advocacy efforts, particularly in the scope of marijuana legalization in Pennsylvania. Along with his professional experience, Matt attributes his education at Alvernia University, where he studied Behavioral Health-Addiction Studies, as a catalyst for solidifying his professional purpose. What he enjoys the most about his role are the daily opportunities to build impactful relationships with individuals of all ages, school personnel and various community members. “Guiding individuals to realize their potential and achieve their meaning for success is my motivation within every interaction I have.”
