Dr. Brian Bumbarger is a national leader in prevention science and implementation. For nearly three decades, Brian has helped communities turn research into real-world prevention strategies. His work has shaped prevention efforts across PA and the nation.
Dr. Alan Berkowitz is a pioneer of the social norms approach. His work has transformed how schools, colleges, and communities think about prevention, perceptions, and behaviors. Alan brings decades of research and practical insight to the conference for all attendees.
Shimaine Holley is a national trainer, child welfare advocate, and founder of Change Is Inevitable LLC. Her work focuses on youth voice, authentic community partnerships, and building systems rooted in trust. Shimaine brings powerful insight shaped by both lived experience and leadership.

The Virtual Conference Experience
- Live Keynote Presentations
Three keynote sessions featuring leaders and innovators in prevention. - Interactive Workshop Sessions
Virtual attendees will have access to three workshop blocks. During each block, two sessions will be available virtually, allowing participants to choose the session that best fits their interests. - Whova Conference Platform Access
Connect with attendees, participate in discussions, receive conference updates, and engage with speakers through the Whova networking and engagement platform. - Pre-Conference Sessions
Virtual registrants may participate in pre-conference learning opportunities on June 2, June 4, and June 8. - Annual Training Hours
Virtual attendees may earn up to 12.5 hours toward annual training requirements. To receive training hours, sessions must be viewed live. - Session Recordings
All virtual sessions will be recorded and available to conference registrants through June 26, 2026, at 4:00 PM. This allows participants to revisit sessions or watch presentations they may have missed. Please note: recorded sessions do not qualify for DDAP training hours. - Virtual Design
The virtual option is designed for prevention professionals who cannot travel but still want access to key conference learning opportunities.

Kick off the conference on Wednesday morning, June 10, with a fun and engaging visit to the State Capitol featuring tours, a scavenger hunt, and opportunities to connect with colleagues. - Keynote Presentations
Three keynote sessions featuring national leaders and innovators in prevention. - Interactive Workshop Sessions
Five workshop blocks with multiple session options, allowing you to customize your learning experience. - Youth Voice Panel
Hear directly from young leaders sharing their perspectives on prevention and community impact. - Pre-Conference Sessions
Two virtual pre-conference learning opportunities. - CPA’s 50th Anniversary Reception & Dinner
Join colleagues from across the state for a lively evening featuring mocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a plated dinner, and a celebration of CPA’s 50 years of prevention leadership. - Whova Platform
Workshop and session selections are made through Whova. Some sessions have attendance limits, so early selection is encouraged. - Annual Training Hours
In-person attendees may earn up to 16.0 hours toward annual training requirements. Sessions must be attended live to qualify. - Session Recordings
All live-streamed sessions will be recorded and availalbe to view through June 26th (at 4:00 pm)

Conference Scholarships
Conference scholarships are now available to help expand access to the 2026 PA Prevention Conference and support professionals working across prevention, behavioral health, education, and community systems. Scholarships are made possible through support from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD)
Scholarships include full in-person conference registration and 3 nights of lodging for eligible applicants.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and awarded as funding allows. The application deadline is May 1, 2026. We encourage early submission.

Hotel Accommodations
The Hilton Harrisburg is the official conference hotel and is connected directly to the conference meeting space.
A room block has been reserved for conference attendees. Staying at the conference hotel helps support the event and makes it easier to participate in networking and evening activities.

$164 per night, plus applicable taxes. This discounted conference rate is available exclusively for CPA conference attendees. - Booking Deadline

Parking
- Overnight guest self-parking is free in the connected Walnut Street Parking Garage.
- For attendees not staying at the Hilton, day self-parking is $10 per day.
- Parking must be validated at the Front Desk to receive the discounted day rate.
Hotel Check-In / Check-Out
- Check-in: 4:00 PM
- Check-out: 11:00 AM
Lodging – Early Departure Fee
If a guest who has booked a room checks out prior to the guest’s scheduled checkout date, the Hotel will add an early checkout fee to that guest’s individual account. Guests wishing to avoid an early checkout fee should advise the Hotel at or before check-in of any change in planned length of stay.
Lodging – Cancellations
Any guest reservation must be cancelled by the guest per the Hilton cancellation policy, to avoid a one-night room and tax charge.
Conference – Registration Cancellation, Conference No-Show, and Substitution Policy for In-Person and Virtual Events
If you are unable to attend the 2026 PA Prevention Conference after registering, we encourage you to send a substitute. If you cannot send a substitute, CPA will apply the refund and cancellation policy outlined in the table below.

| May 1, 2026 & Later | No refund can be issued |
- If your registration is unpaid and you cancel, you will be billed the appropriate cancellation fee based on the dates in the table above.
- If you cancel after April 30, 2026, and your registration is unpaid, you will be billed the full registration amount.
- If you want to switch to a virtual registration option (from an ‘in-person’ registration), the cancellation fees per the dates in the table will apply.
- While you can switch to the virtual format, you must indicate this change by April 30 2026, or you will still be charged for the full ‘in-person’ rate.
- On or after May 1, 2026, we are unable to make a cost adjustment.
- You can switch from virtual registration to an in-person registration up to May 18, 2026, and pay the additional costs.
All registration payments must be received by Friday, May 29, 2026. CPA reserves the right to refuse admission if full payment is not received before the event. In addition, CPA reserves the right to modify the closing registration date based on attendance and capacity.
Prevention Credits
The Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) no longer pre-approves credits for prevention specialists. To find instructions on how to apply, please go to the PCB Website.
DDAP Training Requirement Approval
Our conference is an approved training opportunity that meets the DDAP training requirements. Full-time prevention staff (SCA or contracted providers) responsible for delivering or supervising prevention services must complete 12 hours of prevention training annually. These hours can be earned through classroom or online courses provided by the Commonwealth Prevention Alliance.
A certificate will be emailed to all virtual and in-person attendees who participate in sessions that are “live”. Viewing recordings after the conference does not qualify for training hours.
