Frequently Asked Questions
How will I know if my scholarship has been approved or denied? All applications are reviewed every Friday, and CPA will contact you with your acceptance, denial, or placement on “hold.”
What is a hold? A hold means that not all requirements were met, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be awarded a scholarship. If scholarships are available after the application deadline, applications placed on hold will be processed and approved or denied based on the submission date, statements of need (financial and prevention benefits), and whether requirements are met.
Can I apply for a scholarship if my organization currently receives PCCD funding? Yes, we encourage you to apply. If you currently receive PCCD funding, your application will be placed on “hold” until the deadline. After the deadline, all “holds” will be reviewed and approved or denied (depending on the number of scholarships available). *Do not let this discourage you from applying.
Can more than one person from the same organization apply? Yes. Additional applicants will be placed on “hold” until the deadline. After the deadline, all “holds” will be reviewed and approved or denied (depending on the number of scholarships available). *Do not let this discourage you from applying.
What are the steps after receiving a scholarship? You will receive an email with instructions on registering for the conference. This must be done within the allotted window, or your scholarship will be forfeited.
What if I receive a scholarship but then have to cancel? The conference no-show, cancellation, and substitution policy applies to everyone, including scholarship recipients. Please review this policy at the bottom of the conference page: https://paprevention.org/conference/2026-conference/
Contingency: Scholarships are contingent on final fund availability. If funding through PCCD does not occur, there will be no financial penalty to the scholarship recipient or the recipient agency/coalition.
