About the October Exchange

Our first Exchange will focus on two upcoming national observances:

  • Red Ribbon Week
  • The Great American Smokeout

Participants will have an opportunity to share what they are planning, learn what others are doing, and gather ideas they can adapt for their own communities. The goal is to help prevention professionals strengthen their communications without starting from scratch.

Bring your ideas, questions, examples, and resources to share. You don’t need to present or have a completed campaign to participate.

The Exchange and the Hub

The Exchange is the conversation. It gives prevention professionals a place to connect, discuss challenges, and share what is working.

The Prevention Communications Hub is the resource. It will make useful ideas, examples, and ready-to-use materials easier to find and apply.

What CPA hears through the Exchange will help shape the resources developed and shared through the Hub. Together, they will create more consistent opportunities for Pennsylvania’s prevention professionals to connect and learn throughout the year.

Help Shape What Comes Next

These initiatives will grow based on what prevention professionals need and use. Participants can help by:

  • Sharing successful communication efforts
  • Recommending resources or initiatives to highlight
  • Suggesting topics for future Exchanges
  • Identifying common communication challenges
  • Volunteering to lead or contribute to a future conversation

Join us on October 7 to exchange ideas, prepare for upcoming prevention observances, and help shape this new statewide resource.
